Drug Analysis

For this lab the students were provided with various fake drug samples and were required to identify them. To do so, we had to mix the sample in water and test then find the pH of each sample. If the substance turned blue then it was cocaine, if it was yellow then LSD was present. We had six substances to test which we found that four of the six substances were positive for cocaine and the rest were LSD positive. This lab helps in an investigation because it helps to identify the suspect or victims drugs which can eventually lead to how the person may have died.
